Seriously, this is a DUCK DRAMA day at work. Now they’re all flying around and quacking and possibly fighting. This duck polygamy thing is not working.
A duck just hit our front window at work. You can see a smudge on the window where he hit. Poor guy. I think it was the interloper mallard from yesterday. Excitement!
I hadn’t seen the ducks for a few days - I assumed they somehow had access to my FB account and I had insulted them. I saw them today. A new mallard walked right past me, quacking away, and ran aggressively towards the couple. All thee flew off. This does not bode well for the poor female.
We have a pair of ducks that hang out alongside our facility, and I walk past them several times a day. The male gets upset when I walk by, and starts half rising up and quacking menacingly. Or at least as menacingly as a duck can be. These ducks remind me of people who move by the airport and then complain about the planes.

Art Examples:
Math + 80s glamrock = Angle Dance. The rock group “Plane Geometry” singsplains angles in this clip from Children’s Television Workshop’s Square One Television, a show dedicated to teaching math. It ran from 1987 to 1992 (if that timeframe wasn’t already very, very clear from the video).
There’s more math in the archives.
Thanks, Leigh.
I’ll just leave this here.
Math would be more fun to learn if we had more Glam/New Wave lessons … just sayin.
Square One was my favorite show for quite some time. So happy to see it!

What do you do when you like math but don’t want to become a teacher? You could be a civil engineer, like Marilyn Reece.
She was the first woman to be a fully-licensed civil engineer in California and she’s featured in our May calendar of women trailblazers in science, tech, engineering and math.
Inspiration.
