Jesse S, BFF extraordinaire
FINALLY THE JUSTIFICATION I’VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR.
I totally forgot to point at any of the delicious drinks made tonight. Sigh.
An actual email I received from a recruiter. My mind is BLOWN.
BLOWN, I tell you.
Friends! Have you been watching/reading this? You should! It is excellent.
WARNING: it will make you hungry.
Unemployment Take 2, “Work” Day 3:
I realized something important today. I need some time off. Yes, I do want another job, and quickly, but I also need some time to relax, think about what I want to do next, and toodle around the house. I was starting to feel guilty about not getting anything done this morning, and used the excuse that the cat was asleep on me for at least an hour. But I think that’s okay. For now. Not long term, of course. But it’s only been three (work) days, and I should get to enjoy at least a little of it.
Unemployment Take Two, Day 1: sleep in (check), file for unemployment, figure out a time to pick up my stuff still at the office, call back the three recruiters I’ve heard from in the last two weeks and haven’t had time to call back. Not a bad first day, if I get it done. Honestly, I may just sit in my pajamas, watch TV, and drink.
The company I had been working for let go of all its temporary employees quite suddenly last night, with no reason given. It was all of us, though, so I’m sure it was a budget thing, and not a performance thing.
yenn:
In a letter dated September 19, 1946, Tyfanny writes:
“I forgot to tell you, in my last letter, that I was a girl. I mean I am a girl. I have always regretted this a great deal, but by now I have become more or less resigned to the fact. Anyway, I hate dresses and dances and all the kind of rot…
Just like me! Well, except that I hate horses.
He really was the best, wasn’t he.
Alas, poor Yenn, I knew her well.
